course(s) you have purchased. To begin the course, click "Start".

What kind of computer and system requirements do I need to run a real estate continuing education course?

Can I use the real estate continuing education course on more than one computer?
You can complete your course on any computer with an Internet connection that meets our system requirements.

How long does it take to complete a real estate continuing education course?
NYS Department of State, Division of Licensing Services has defined the following policy regarding the actual amount of time a student must spend on a course to receive a certificate. A student should spend at least 50 minutes of each 60-minute hour to receive credit for that hour. For example, a three-hour course should not be completed in less than 2 ½ hours and a six-hour course should not be completed in less than five hours.

How do I check how much time I have spent on a real estate continuing education course, module or lesson?
When you begin your course, the recommended time requirements to complete the course and its individual modules/lessons are listed on the "Requirements for Earning Continuing Education Credit for this Course" screen. Upon completion of each module/lesson, a "Module Completion Status" screen informs you of the total time spent in the course plus how much time was spent in each module.

If you do not meet the overall course time requirements upon completion of the course, you will be notified which modules/lessons you need to review and how much more time you need to spend in those modules/lessons.

At any time, you can click on the "Completion Status" button found at the bottom of your course screen to review how much time you have spent in the course and modules or lessons.

What happens if I open a real estate continuing education course and leave it inactive for a period of time??
If no activity is detected from your system for a period of 20 minutes, the CE Network system will time you out. If you attempt to continue with the course after 20 minutes have elapsed, you will be requested to exit the course, log into CE Network again and restart the course. The progress during this inactive time will not be tracked. Once you log back into the system, you will be returned to the last screen where your time was recorded.

For how long can I access the real estate continuing education course?
Once a course is purchased, you have one year to successfully complete it. If you complete it earlier than one year, you still have access to the course for the remaining time, in case you wish to review it.

How do I receive credit for a CE Network course?
The introduction section of each course lists the specific requirements for course completion and for obtaining continuing education credit. On completion of all course requirements, you will need to request your credit by verifying your license number and mailing address and by signing, dating and mailing to CE Network a "Proof of Course Completion" form. It is strongly recommended that you submit this form within five business days to avoid delays in CE Network reporting your course completion.

Once CE Network receives your signed and dated Proof of Course Completion form, a record of your course completion will be submitted to the Division of Licensing Services for the State of New York. A Certificate of Completion will be forwarded to you within three weeks. It is recommended that you retain copies of documents as proof of course completion.

It has been more than 3 weeks and I have not yet received my Certificate of Course Completion. How can I obtain my Certificate?
There are a couple of reasons why you may not have received your Certificate of Course Completion. First, our office may not have received your signed Proof of Course Completion form. If you did not send this form in, please sign, date and mail it in to our office as soon as possible. Once we have received your signed form, a Certificate of Course Completion will be issued and mailed to you immediately. Your record of course completion will then be forwarded to the regulator.

Second, there is a possibility that the Certificate may have been lost in the mail or returned to CE Network as a result of incorrect mailing information. Contact Customer Support at 1-866-444-1123 or by e-mail at support@cenetwork.com to request a copy of your Certificate of Course Completion.
